Post subject: | Martin purfling question |
I am restoring a 1975 D-28 and I don“t know which purfling is the appropriate type/size. Could somebody point me in the right direction? Preferably something as close to original as possible. Where can I get it? Thank you! Sondre |

The Guitar Makers Connection at Martin can supply you with just what you need. You can order top or back purfling "sets" or individual strips from them. Top purfling for a 1975 D-28 would consist of: .0325" thin black/white .025" black .065" wide black/white .0625" white Boltaron binding http://www.martinguitar.com/guitar-make ... l?start=70 I recommend you call the main number for the factory, ask for the Guitar Maker's Connection, and talk to Gail or Liz about what you need. |

Note that Martin calls all of this plastic trim 'binding'. In Martin-speak, only wood strips are called 'purfling'. |
