No, but I have one his hand-held binding cutters. Impressive as all get-out, I love it! I have resolved that if I ever get into cutting my mortises after closing the box instead of before then I will get this version instead of the wooden version or building my own. Not only does Chris make nice tools but he seems to really have grasp on what luthiers actually need for quality tooling. |

I have the older version and really like it. It is a machined metal version of the Woolson neck jig. There are a few Luthiers that make plywood version and You can get plans of a Robbie Obrien version at LMI. I have used it on about 6 guitars so far. |

I also have the older version and really like it. It took me a while to figure it out, and I don't use it exactly as described in their instruction manual. But I'm very happy with the results. Near perfect dovetails every time, that only require minimal fitting if any. Well worth the price, especially if you are building a lot of instruments. Josh |

Thanks folks. I have a set of Woolson plans, but think the one I see here looks more precise. I've been routing with the Stew Mac dovetail jig for years and doing the last 3/16" by hand. Josh, your key words were "near perfect every time". Think I will go through the manual a couple more times and make a decision. Anyone else? |

Haans I have this plywood version that you can take a look at to see if it's up to your expectations. I didn't build it and I don't remember who I bought it from a couple of years ago. I'll bring it over if you want to try it. I'd like to visit your shop again. Dan in Brooklyn Park

I've used both the LMI kit and the luthier tool (new), and there is no comparison. Hands down, the Luthier Tool is worth the money. |
