I have stuck with gotoh and grover tuners , and like both of these tuners...but was thinking of trying some hipshot tuners, both the gotoh 510 and grovers I use are 18:1 which I prefer..just fishing for some opinions as to quality and feedback.. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

High quality, great neo-classic look, reasonable price. Other than obscurity, I haven't found a down side. My clients who picked them are very happy with their choice. dl |

Hipshot makes a fine machine. You can find them cheaper on eBay than their website, but they have options on their site that I can't find any where else. |

I've been using them on my 8 string and 10 string instruments, and a few 6 strings too. He only initial issue I had (this was a few years ago when they first started making guitar tuning machines) was the washers they supplied were too tight and didn't cover enough. I let them know and the next batch I got from them had bigger washers. Nigel www.theluthierblog.com www.nkforsterguitars.com |

I've used the Hipshot open gear lockers on my last 2 acoustics, best tuners I have had. |
