Post subject:  any clue about this wood?

i know the photo is far from optimum... i blame the cell phone, not the photographer :) . but if someone has any hint, it´d be most welcome.
i´ll measure its density tomorrow - but it does feel heavy. i´ll also try to take a pic of endgrain if it helps.

How true is the color in the photo? Does it smell like perfume when you sand it?

Thanks ! I was guessing goncalo Alves too. They call it muiracatiara here. The color is brick orange, with those wonderful black streaks.

Any experience with it?

I built an MJ with Concaolo Alves (from Bobc), and was very happy with the sound. One
of the best I've built.
