I realize these chisels aren't made from the same steel as the pre war stuff. I have lots of chisels...LOTS of chisels. I have a set of Bergs that span 1/8" increments up to 1 1/2" Lots of old Bucks and Witherby's and a few good old Marples and such. I don't however own a single Stanley. I don't know why that is aside from not liking to buy into collector's pricing. I also knew that if I bought one from Ebay, I'd soon be trying to put a full set together. I mostly bought the new Sweethearts to see if I like the style. The 750s always seemed to be a graceful design, and about 2 years ago, I would have thought paying 75 dollars for a Lie Nielsen Chisel was ridiculous, but I thought these would give me a bit of a feel as to whether someday I go for broke on them. To be honest though, I'd probably buy a set of Barr Bench chisels before the Nielsens. I've many times considered selling most of my chisels so I can invest in a set. I had a chance to use them last summer and I'm convinced there isn't a better chisel out there, old or new. I'll try and do a little bit of a write up when I get the Sweethearts. Since this is only the 4 chisel set, I considered trying to get the filler sizes in the old 750's from ebay, just to have something to compare it with. Eventually I need to stop buying chisels and start building more guitars, so keep an eye out on the classifieds for some nice old chisels
