Hi All, It's a bit overdue, but the voting poll is open for the next 14 days in the official 2014 Local Woods Challenge Build. Three contestants finished guitars constructed from "local" sources. We decided to give the contestants latitude to determine exactly what was "local." I believe each has documented their wood sources for your consideration. These challenges are quite beneficial to the builders, and take a great amount of time, so please reward them for their investment, and go vote! I'm attempting to get the three finisher's threads pinned to the top, but until then, they are Joe Sallis, Theo Delaca, and Matt Bouchie. The link to the voting poll is here: viewtopic.php?f=10138&t=45055 Thank you all for your time and consideration of the contestant's builds. Jay Swann |

Thanks for the heads up, I'll look through them as soon as I get a chance and make my vote. I'd like to echo your sentiments above. I participated in one of the challenges here a couple years ago and it was a great experience. A lot of work goes into setting up a challenge and documenting the process along the way. That work deserves our time to look through them and vote! |

All the people that hang out here and only 27 votes. There's only 3 entrees. Take a couple minutes and have a look and vote. |

34 votes cast? I think we can do better than that! |

Don't you think that Theo, Matt and Joe deserve a bit more respect for their' builds than the 35 votes that have been cast so far? I think this forum is more supportive than that. Alex |

I didn't see this thread until now. I usually save the Guitar Building Forum to read every other weekend when I do an overnight shift. Gives me something to read to stay awake all night. Thanks to all the voters and to Jay for administering the build. It sure was a fun build and it sure was fun seeing my guitar played on stage, too. Thanks to Theo and Joe for building guitars that easily could have won this competition, as well. I wouldn't have been surprised at all to have finished in third place! Matt |
