Is the best way to do this, tape in place then wick in thin CA glue? Opinions and other methods would be appreciated. All the best Roby.

Really have nothing good to say about CYA for celluloid binding. I use Weldon 16 and find it to be more sticky than Duco cement. CYA will wick into the purfling and turn it yellow under the finish.

I've used CA with ivoroid many times with no problem or yellowing. I do it just like you describe...tape in place and drop thin CA. Then hit it with the activator to get a fast cure. CA will soften/dissolve celluloid binding if left wet too long...more than a few seconds, so spray activator as you go. Get a glue pipette or syringe too, drops from the bottle tip are way too big and will wick everywhere

I have used 3M Plastic and Emblem adhesive for Plastic and Ivoroid binding. Its clear and is tough stuff. You can find it at your local auto parts store.

Roby, Weldon 16 is for the binding. I use white/yellow glue for purfling.
