Lance's very generous offer to put together a bulk string order is the best deal around if you need a gross or half gross of sets. I wondered what type of deal might be available for those of us who think two dozen is a lot. I found Juststrings.com sells bulk strings that may be a way to go. They have plain steel, PB and 80-20 in packages of 12 strings by size of string. 12 sets of PB light gauge would end up about $3.30 a set before shipping (6.95 for any order) no sales tax. The appealing thing is that you are buying individual string sizes so custom string sets are easily done. I have not tried these strings. They say they are made by a major US manufacturer. Anyone tried them? Dave |

Those Euphonon strings are very interesting. Thanks for the heads up Tom. I will be ordering some to give them a try. |

The Euphonon operation is owned and operated by Walter Lipton who has been around and building great guitars for at least 40 years. He knows his stuff. Tom |

Bob: The last batch I got about a year ago was 50 sets and the postage was about 20.00 U.S. At that time the exchange rate was much better then now so one has to factor that into the equation. They are not done up as sets but rather by sizes. No problem as far as I'm concerned and decent strings but I'm not what I would call a player and not much of an ear. Tom |

I've had good luck with juststrings.com. But I've never ordered a lot at one time, maybe five or ten sets at once and don't remember the cost breakdown. But I remember it was the cheapest I'd found on Martin, D'Adarrio and D'Angelico strings. They delivered quickly USPS. I've never been dissatisfied. Also, I found some uncommon sets, as well as what you mentioned about custom sets, for Mandola, Bouzouki etc. which has come in handy. |

I've ordered hundreds of strings from Juststrings.com and they're pretty good. I re-package them for sale as bandura string sets (about 55 to 60 strings per set). A long time ago they told me who makes them and unfortunately I forgot who it was but I do recall that when they told me, I did confirm that it was a reputable manufacturer. I've been using them for years and will continue to do so. |

I really like "Strings and Beyond". They offer free shipping on any order over $35. I hit them when they have a 20% off sale and I get the 10 pack of D'Adarrio lights for around $2.75a set delivered! I have also gotten the same price on the 10 pack from guitar center on some super sale. |
