Isn't that the handle that Hesh refers to in some of his posts?

It wasn't me..... That's not one of any of the screen names that I use..... :) JUST KIDDING but it wasn't me, been busy here dying from a kidney stone.... but doing better now....:)

It is very much the example screen name that I've been using in discussions about using real names.

Chris: Yeah, yeah their money works too and I'll add many of our friends and clients are heavymetalvomitdudes and amazing players too!!!! We've got a child prodigy heavy metal player who is amazing and very likely may find his way to fame and fortune - hope so!

Sounds like someone is playing games again - just start a thread with a dispute and they are sure to show up as they have in the past....

Hesh, you have my sympathy, I remember the excruciating pain.
Glad you're doing better.

Thanks Colin, much appreciated. It seems every 5 - 8 years I end up with a kidney stone or more.... This time it was three and so far two have been blasted away with a laser and they are letting me rest and get stronger before going for the big one that remains.

For the larger one it will be concentrated sound waves. I've asked for Townshend and the who, perhaps Pinball Wizard at full volume.... :)

The worst part is the medieval stints that they install in ya and are very, very uncomfortable..... Sorry if any of this is grossing anyone out, it grosses me out and I have to live it....

But man can they be painful but I am very thankful that I have great docs and lots of good people who help me get though this.

My sympathies Hesh I've never experienced what you're going through. But you're the second person I've known with that problem. I can only imagine how painful that must be. Now my other friend was way back in 82 they didn't have all that stuff to break them up. Didn't they just have to pass them? OMG!! Feel better my friend.

Stop drinking Dr Pepper!! (That's what my doc says can cause it)

After my last kidney stone, which the doc said was one of the biggest he'd ever seen, he told me to lay off brown liquids. I used to drink diet coke or iced tea pretty much exclusively. Now I drink a lot of water and 7-up if I want a soda. Occasional iced tea. I haven't had another kidney stone since and it's been almost 10 years

Steve I'm a strong believer in Camomile Tea. Very tasty and very medicinal. You know how a persons arms look when they are forced into an aspirin regimen. Well Camomile applied topically cures those bruises plus it's not really brown.

Thanks Mike and everyone else too! Mike your doc is right because my doc told me that all carbonated beverages are suspect with kidney stones! I'm pretty much a plain old bottled water drinker only but I do like a clear pop once in a while so no biggie for me.

We suspect that the real culprit here for me is dairy products.... I love cheese.... pizza, etc.... :? and every time I get a stone analyzed it turns out to be calcium. Back in the day when I was much younger and Linus Pauling was recommending 2,000 to 3,000 mg of vitamin C I had one come back as ascorbic acid - vitamin C.... so I stopped doing that....

I've got one large stone left and it's still in the right kidney and the plan is to blast it with sound waves before it becomes a problem and blocks something like the others did. I might get out of this one a bit easier if my timing for the lithotripsy machine is good!

Thanks for the concern very much appreciated!

So you know first hand Steve how very pleasant these things can be.... :? :D It's been said that it's the closest thing that we males can experience to giving birth..... Back before Bill Cosby was known to be a rapist and scum bag.... he used to describe a kidney stone as like taking your upper lip, pulling it over the back of your head and down your back in terms of pain.... :)

I seem to get them or have them become a problem every 5 to 8 years. I change my diet for a while but soon enough that pizza starts looking pretty good again and I lose my resolve.... :?

Doing much better now and even going into work today. We are closed all week for the North Woods Seminar but since I was in and out of the hospital I didn't go this year - bummer....

Thanks Steve!

Hi Lonnie, I should have been more specific - I was talking of good ole regular southern sweet tea which I now drink only occasionally and without the sweet :(

Hesh - good luck with the big-un. My approach is probably simplistic but it has worked so far (insert crossed fingers here). Sounds like the reality is that the problem could be anything consumed in excess that exceeds the kidney's ability to remove in solution.

Yeah "excess" is the operative word with me.... I tend to over eat when I eat and then starve the rest of the time to make up for it, not good....

Actually good call on your part Chris - I've been told that I need to watch the sweets..... :( :D Problem is that I've never met an ice cream that I don't like..... :D

Getting old sucks..... On the other hand you can get away with a lot more. These days when I say crazy things people think it's funny and don't take me seriously.... I just had interaction with about 25 nurses in the hospital and no matter what I said to them they just laughed.... :)
