Everyone within driving distance is cordially invited to visit the shop on Saturday, Oct 17, between 10 and 5. Feel free to bring guitars, wood, tools...basically, anything swappable, gloatable, sellable, or playable. I think it's gonna be a pretty interesting mix of amateurs and pros. Tony Karol will be doing a demo around noon doing the (mostly) Laskin arm bevel. Josh House from Canadian Luthier Supply will also be there. For those of you who don't know Josh, he makes great radius dishes and work boards. The only problem is, they're heavy. So if you've been meaning to order one and would rather not pay for shipping, Josh will deliver it to my place. He also has some pretty cool jigs and really nice mahogany that he brings across the border from Hibdon. I'l be providing lunch. Nothing fancy, just burgers and dogs. You're responsible for your own liquid refreshments, adult or otherwise. If folks could give me some sense of the likelihood of joining us, I'd sure appreciate it. I'll try to pin people down a little more as the date gets closer, simply so I can make sure we've got enough food and space. The actual location is: 9828 Oak Ridges Dr. Baltimore, ON K0K 1C0 It's roughly 15 minutes north of Cobourg and 5 minutes south of Rice Lake. And if you want to get me directly, I'm at 905-342-5749, and at stevedenvir@gmail.com Looking forward to seeing some old friends and meeting some new ones. Steve |

I'm planning on coming, Steve. Looking forward to meeting other guitar people! I've been to a couple of Tony's demos at Exotic woods, and he does a great job of showing and explaining techniques. Thanks for doing this, Steve! Alex |

Sounds like a great time Steve! I'd come too but Tommy Chong is fond of saying that if you like cavity searches.... cross an international border with a guitar case.... ![]() I don't like cavity searches...... Be sure to take lots of pics and/or video so your bros down south can share in the experience too! |

Hey everyone, just a reminder that we'll be getting together on Saturday. Apparently, it's gonna be a little frosty, but the shop is heated, so don't worry too much about layers. If anyone's got any issues or gets lost, my cell is 905-375-4514. Looking forward to seeing everyone. |

Hey guys, Really sorry to have to miss out on this one. The weather around here has been crazy for the past few days. Snow, ice pellets, thunderstorms, etc. I expect this living right on the lake, but not in mid-October!! Anyone take pictures? |

I made it to within 10 miles of Steve's place, but decided to spend the day with my special needs grandson. He got lost in Port Perry on Fri. after school for an hour, so I thought I should spend Saturday with him at his hockey, just down the road from Steve. Next time I guess. Bob |

Family is always the best choice. We had a really nice time, and Steve and his wife were wonderful hosts! Tony's arm bevel lesson was great. Seeing what he was doing live, and with his reasoning, made it much easier to understand that just pictures and text would. Hope to meet you soon, Bob! Alex |
