This is another L-00 style guitar. Commission build, sad to see it go but at least I get to play it for a little while. I am loving these smaller sized guitars

Back and Sides: Curly Jarrah
Soundboard: Engelmann Spruce
Bindings: Blackwood & BWB
Neck: Australian Red Cedar
Fretboard and bridge: Gidgee
Finish: Nitro
Modified X-brace

That's just lovely. I've always liked that shape and your treatment of it is wonderful.

Very gorgeous with a capital VG! Seems like you have access to some very cool woods down under. This is the first I've heard of Jarrah. Wow!

Gosh, doesn't look like the jarrah I know. Had it on our kitchen floor in New Zealand, and used it for appointments on a Aussie-themed dreadnought, but not with that kind of figure. Truly outstanding! Mind revealing where you got it?

Also, you said finish is nitro -- curious what brand? Looks good! Really nice instrument.

I do not think this wood is Eucalyptus marginata, I think more something like Eucalyptus globulus.

I would not be so hasty about that. Jarrah does often come with intense fiddleback figure, and although the colour is lighter than most of the Jarrah I have, the colour does vary a lot and much of the stuff harvested nowadays is a lighter colour.

Nice guitar, Martin.

It does look a lot like Wandoo, though. (Jarrah stick alongside).

Nice! I like the level of contrast between body/bindings.

Very nice, Martin. Please tell me you are not also the exceptionally gifted recording artist/jazz guitar virtuoso Martin Taylor! If you are you must literally have guitar shaped DNA.

It is definitely Jarrah. The other pieces I have that came off the same log go out to the traditional dark colour like in your sample Trevor. It just seems this piece is ridiculously figured. It also is probably a little darker in reality than the pictures show.

I have enough for about 6 more guitars. Students keep wanting to buy it from me though. Might have to keep a couple of sets for the vault
