OLF members Josh House, Ron Belange, Fred Tellier, and Tony Karol were at the Guitar Day at Exotic Woods in Burlington, Ont., showing some of their instruments.     It was nice to be able to have time to chat with all of them, as well as sitting in on Tony's set-up seminar. Other speakers were Marc Beneteau and Sergei DeJonge. A fun day! Pretty guitars indeed! I think it's great whenever I get to meet online friends out in the real world and love reading about these types of events. Thanks for posting and sharing the photos. |

I was there too, although I only really ended up talking with Tony and Fred. There were some other guys around talking about arm bevels, was one of them you Bob? I found the show inspiring, can't wait to get back into the shop! |

Hey Chris .. what do you mean .. I make them !!! that's #4, I am working on #6 right now, as well - have one of my students making one .. I will be at the harp guitar gathering this year in Mooresville NC (Oct 24/25 weekend) .. the owner of my first harp is hosting !!! |

Fred, maybe ease up on the single malt while fretting and setting the bridge. JK, but maybe someone could explain briefly,to an ignoramus, what the skewed frets is all about. Wish I could have been there. |

Is this your own design, or inspired by other popular makes? I would like to attend a harp guitar gathering some day (but not this year). |

hi Chris, definitely inspired by Dyer/Knutsen designs ... I cant say I am the biggest fan of the cloud harp headstock, as you are pretty much forced to use banjo tuners with 4:1 ratio for the tuners .. I have tried using them on other harps and don't really like the feel, so I wanted to be able to use Gotoh std tuners for the subs. The tailfin was a direct take form a Knutsen design, and there was only one Dyer that had that, style 4 I believe ..internally its based off the Dyer plan the GAL has, but modified for a fan fret neck, and changed some of the parameters based on how I brace things. |
