Pretty cool to see your daughter perform and with one of your guitars. I have a son so if I built a Nick Luca I suppose it would be safe but it's already too late for my D28 - dang kids think if you have it then it's theirs too

A year and a half ago I posted about a Nick Lucas Special that I made for my daughter who plays blues in Brooklyn NY. She always plays a 1937 National Duolian on stage, but last weekend she travelled to our little Eastern Shore community in MD and did a show and she brought along the Nick. This is the first time I have seen her play it on stage. She sang a few songs, including Creole Belle by John Hurt, the first song she asked me to teach here when she was 13: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSR0kSIIuxY She also has a repair shop (brooklynlutherie.com) and I had a chance to hear it next to a real Nick and it performed reasonably well. This small mahogany/sitka guitar sounded very similar but did not have as much volume.
