Fred: Thanks, it's quite obvious that I'm not very handy around a computer. My few neurons are already overloaded. Tom |

Tom, If you're trying to post a photo, I find the tapatalk app the easy way to do it. Just like posting on FB. Off a mobile device.... |

The biggest issue is usually size. Resizer's are available for most OS's. |

Waddy: Yes, I've stumbled over that a few times. Too big or too small. But think I've got a bit of a handle now. Tom |

Hmm. Anybody doing a search for cam clamps wouldn't find this... until now. These look nice, Tom. Are they 8 1/2" throat depth? What's the maximum jaw opening? Will you make any changes if you decide to make another batch? cheers, Steve |

Steve: Two different sizes..........7+" and 8+" from end of clamp to bar and the clamping depth is 5+". The clamping depth can be what ever you want, just use longer stock They are not made to these sizes for any specific reason, they are a result of the material available. These have steel flat bar stock .125" x 1". Aluminum makes a lighter clamp and is strong enough. The rivets are 16 penny 3 1/2" nails and the holes are made as close to size and size as possible, the nails driven in and cut flush on the back side. The crimps under the head that are a result of heading hold things nicely in place. I should have made another dozen and made the jaws a lot shorter. I tend to build guitars in batches about 3 or 4 and don't use a go bar deck so when gluing braces on a number of guitars one needs a lot of clamps if you want to be time efficient. I have quite a few but it seems never enough. Tom |
