Post subject: | Replacement tuners |
All A friend has a "The Gibson" A body mandolin - #25276 - that is in very nice shape except that the tuners are very hard to turn. We have had them off, played with them, lubricated, taken one post apart, but can't get them loosened up. So 2 questions: 1) Is this common? Is there something we could try to loosen them? 2) Is there a replacement for this style of tuner - 4 on a plate? Can;t seem to find one. https://www.flickr.com/photos/ruby1638/23439585894/in/dateposted-public/ Thanks Ed |

Stew-Mac Golden Age tuners should fit fine. http://www.stewmac.com/Hardware_and_Parts/Tuning_Machines/Mandolin_Tuning_Machines/Golden_Age_A-style_Mandolin_Tuners.html |

Thanks Barry I understand that they and many others will fit, but I am looking for a replacement that duplicates the shape of the original plates - square at top and bottom. Ed |
