I would like to do some inlay. I am way too allergic to epoxy to use that. I was using some polyester resin such as for a paper weight and tried gluing some sheets of veneer together. The resin soaked completely into the wood and left nothing to glue the two pieces of wood together. I am sure there were good materials for inlay glue and gap filler before the modern resins. Any advice?

There are several different thicknesses of black cyanoacrylate (super glue) available that can be used for inlay.

CA glue and ebony dust works good.
