I'm just now going through Alan Carruth's video on free plate tuning and would like to try this on my current build. Does anyone know of a frequency producing app I can download and use for testing? Thanks |

I'm doing the same with the Carruth DVD. You could have a look at Visual Analyser from http://www.sillanumsoft.org/ I'm in the process of setting up myself and that's what I will try. Download, open, go into Wave (waveform generator). You can work on one channel and mute the other (or interlock both together) into a mono input to supply signal to an amp/speaker. I've looked at a few, it's the easiest to vary frequency that I've found so far, just arrows up / down to change frequency. Oh, and it's the right price - free. |

I've got one called "ToneExplorer" on my ipad. So far I've used it for generating test tones to run through amps when troubleshooting, but it would be good for chladni patterns too. I don't think it was free, it might have been a dollar or two. No ads that way! |

Sweepgen is what I use. It's free and easy once you get it set up. You have to downlaod the program and the library. http://www.satsignal.eu/software/audio.html |
