Thanks Robbie. It appears like the heel actually curves inward than out again to the heel cap area. This is a nice touch that surprised me as I figured the neck would be carved in one step on a CNC machine with the bit coming down on the back of the neck. So in this configuration the bit could not go in to make that curve. Any idea on how they do it? Pat |

A 4 axis machine should be able to do that, yes? |

Yes, a 4 axis machine could definitely do that but judging from the ridges around the heel, this is done with 3 or 4 setups (possibly more if we count the headstockrather than a 4 axis machine. |
