Wasn't too sure how how this would work out, owner to be wanted no rosette and red pearl bindings on Satinwood, but I'm feeling a bit better about it now I took of the binding tape. |

Your description made me worry. But, actually, it is a lot better looking than I had imagined. Rather elegant - in a scarlet silk bathrobe kind of style! If that is what the owner asked for - then I think you nailed it. Nice looking soundboard by the way. Adirondack? A matching soundhole binding might be a nice touch in the absence of a rosette. |

Yes, Adirondack. And the owner to be wants "Bling" I thought soundhole binding too, but the coupled air frequency is just where I want it, so..... |

Did you put a rosette on the inside? |

Reminds me of the classic Hugh Hefner red smoking jacket. If the customer's happy then all is well |

I like the red pearl. Where's that from? Not so sure about the no-rosette look but the customer is always right |

I always like your guitars, Colin, and I don't see this one being any different. The customer is sometimes right, and sometimes wrong, but as long as they cut the final cheque, and are happy, that is all that counts. Alex |

Not so sure about the no-rosette look but the customer is always right I bought these from China via ebay, 5 for the price of 2 locally in UK, Looks and measures just the same.... Customer knew what he wanted for sure - this will be no 33 in his stringed instrument collection of guitars, (Tenor via archtop to Hummingbird) mandocellos, mandolins. bazoukis, you get the picture, but mostly pretty standard builds - this is the first he's had made I believe. Don't know if it had any influence on him, but at the "event" where he ordered, I was showing a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQVfok8LrLA featuring a guitar with no rosette. |

Did a few experimental builds with no rosettes. Don't really miss it in them. |

I think you can sleep soundly with a clear conscience. You have honored your customer's request very well. Now...it's not MY cup of tea, but that is beside the point. I think you did a heckuva good job with a very challenging customer request. |
