Any ideas of how to soften the glue at this joint so that the joint can be properly aligned & reglued? The glue is a white glue (aliphatic resin - Garrett Wade Slo Set).

Just use some local heat. I have a small travel iron that I use. Just put the point of the iron on it and it should soften up.
