Guanacaste has a unique appearance and texture, which is mostly due to its very large pores, AKA Parota. Are you up for it? |

This is always my go-to source for information on wood. The site didn't list it under Parota, but had an entry for guanacaste which directs you to the entry for kelobra. If you look at the data sheet, it shows that one of the common names (a LOT of common names for this one!!) for this species is indeed parota. Other than the open pores, looks like it might be an interesting wood for lutherie. http://www.hobbithouseinc.com/personal/woodpics/kelobra.htm |
