Anybody like the new LMI truss rods that can be adjusted with 3 different tools? |

I didn't notice that option the last time I ordered a two way LMI truss rod in May. Maybe it's a pretty new feature? It seems like making it possible to use all three types of tools for an acoustic guitar would require a bigger hole through the upper face brace than I would want to consider drilling there. I guess you could make the brace taller to compensate though. I could see the 1/4" driver being a nice option if you could get it to the truss rod nut. I have my doubts about how usable the screw driver slot would be. |

Jay - that's why I asked... I have run out of my Allied Lutherie rods and need to get some more. Also, I need one for the cs-336 I'm working on. This will be the first rod I intstall with adjustment at the headstock. I had the same thought that it might require a larger access hole, which would not be good for headstock adjustment. Looks like Allied has changed thier rod... Would the LMI rod be suitable for the headstock adjustment or otherwise...? |
