Just a note to say thanks to the folks at Exotic Woods in Burlington for putting on Guitar Day this year. Got some gorgeous bearclaw Sitka for $45/set (Can). Reconnected with Alex Kleon, Ron Belanger, Greg Furan, Fred Tellier, Tony Karol, Mick Oliveira, and finally got to meet Bob Shanklin. Also had the pleasure of questioning and listening to Sergei de Jonge in his seminar. One of these guys who's forgotten more about guitar building than I'm ever likely to know. A good day. Steve |

It was a very good day! Sergei cut through a lot of lutherie "givens" and shared his years of experience in a very easy to understand, and very humourous manner! Thanks to Tony Karol for his excellent side bending seminar! There was lots of info and tips that will make my bending better! Lots of nice stuff to buy, but I managed some fiscal restraint, for once. Well, sort of! Oh, yeah, almost forgot to mention the great guitars displayed by Fred, Ron, and Tony - awesome! Alex |
