| Post subject: | Another addition to my bench |
I've wanted a cradle to hold guitar bodies while binding. So I made this one. Simple, doesn't need total height adjusting like a cradle being used for some binding jigs. I put it on a post so I can turn it but still keep the cradle in one spot on the bench. Will be good for installing bindings as well as scraping.    Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Looks handy but I would mount it way closer to the front. That looks like back pain in the making... |

When I rotate to the lower bout it's only 1/4" from the bench edge.... |

That's a great idea. I have the carrier like what you have there that I use for the binding cutting jig. I may put a removable pin in that and use it like your idea here. Thanks for sharing it. Right now I'm using a cork lined L shaped board with a catch that catches the front edge of the bench. It doesn't spin though. This is better. Thanks! Brad |

I've been needing to build something like that for a while. I do bindings differently but it could be very useful for other tasks as well. |

I kind of like that center spindle idea, we'll give it a shot. I saw the cradle design below on line somewhere, super simple we made a few out of a pieces of scrap ply or MDF.

My binding set up use to be this However I'm moved to the Larrivee style from CLS. So I lost the cradle when I sold my binding jig set up. I always used the cradle when I was installing the binding but found it a bit difficult to get from one side over to the other, thus the idea to make a basic cradle on a stick  Ken, I always like seeing your simple solutions to things......keep it up. |
