This guitar is my "Da Vinci" model and features a curly redwood top with EIRW B&S. This design moves the load carrying structure to the tailpiece and rim of the guitar and allows for a much more "open" sound to the guitar. It has a lattice style braced top as well as a cantilevered fretboard and tailpiece so that the only thing that touches the top is the bridge. The sound is amazing on this guitar and I can't wait to see how the African Blackwood and Sitka "Da Vinci" that I'm buffing out now will sound! Thanks for looking.

Not only beautiful but the sound hole/port combination should make a great carrying handle :)

Stunning. The design of the soundhole / soundport is beautiful. What's the finish?

Looks a winner Chris, soundclip?

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Fantastic. Can you detail how you made the tailpiece. I like it.
