Mine came with this tool and it's way more useful than I thought I would be. |

Paper changing is something I checked-out before buying my drum sander. A big reason why I got a Supermax 19-38. With pre-cut strips, 2 minutes to change. Fast and easy. Brent |

That looks like it has the same end clips as my General 24" drum sander. A pretty fair summary of how the spring loaded clips work is here : http://www.general.ca/pdf/machines/15_s ... 50_ENG.pdf It starts on page 17. Trimming the end triangle like they show helps. I have a strip saved so that when I use bulk sandpaper I can use it as a pattern to get the length correct. cheers |

That is the most irritating feature of that sander. With my old hands and the tight spaces I have given up and tape the inboard end of the belt onto the drum with cellophane or strapping tape (all the way around the end of the drum). After the new belt stretches I retape it. Even when using those stupid clamps I have had the belt come loose and the end of belt get chewed up to where it is too short to reattach. Again - tape is your friend, and can allow you too use an otherwise good belt. They should call it a 14 1/2 - 29 inch sander. ![]() It is an otherwise O.K. machine with a reasonable cost/ benefit ratio. |

The last time I changed it ,I thought the clip would pull out towards the motor, making it easier to slide the paper in. I don't remember needing 3 hands lol |
