| Post subject: | Battery life for LR Baggs Lyric? |
Title says it all. I've been questioned several times on battery life for onboard preamp pups, but I don't have an informed answer. I just today installed a Lyric in a Takamine and used the external battery access on the former, non-functioning side-mount preamp for power. The client was happy that she could easily pull the battery between gigs and not worry about starting a night with a dead battery. So, with a more conventional install with an interior battery bag, how long can one expect the battery to last? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I just installed on this past week. The instruction said 170 hours. I'm not very familiar with the models, but the one I installed had a preamp that had a battery indicator light on it. Like most preamps of this style whenever the guitar is plugged in the battery is being drained. It is good to remind the client to unplug the guitar whenever they are not playing it. |

I put LRBaggs something in almost everything, latest being the 3v Five.O's of course. One of my friends changes his battery in his Element UST every 5-6 months, weekly gigs 3 hours plus. Two friends with Five.O's and moost others I speak to who don't gig except maybe once a month, don't change their batteries for more than a year. Like Josh said, if its plugged in, its on. |

Besides.that, I always recommend running it through a Para Acoustic DI or Venue, IF they're willing to learn how to use it. My opinion, and its what my guitar and ukulele player run. |
