Post subject:  Anyone own/had/used a fox/delta 16/33 drum sander

Hi

Has anybody know anything about the fox/delta 16/32 drum sander.

Just got one 2nd hand, but struggling to get the drum alignment right. It's sanding heavier towards the free end of the drum

I downloaded an instruction book online but it shows a slightly different one with a adjustment knob on the table. There is nothing like this on mine and nothing obvious on the roller.

There are 4 bolts holding the belt table down to the unit which I suppose I could shim if I had to but doesn't seem right

Here's hoping someone knows
Many thanks

Adjust it until it cranks up and down smoothly then make a sanding sled. You'll never get that sander properly aligned.

Can you take a picture from the feed end looking at the motor? There should be some sort of adjustor for the drum head.

This the adjustor on a typical Jet/Performex sander.

There's a way to dial it using the four screw post that raise and lower the platen. I forget how exactly how but it's there. Basically you release the post from being slaved together and then adjust them. I did mine probably 15 years ago or so. It's accurate and it holds.

Hi Rod . Yes the picture you have there is the one in the instructions but unfortunately mine does not have this adjustor and the drive unit is different

Thanks

Can you remember where these screws are, do you mean the 4 bolts that hold the whole conveyor table to the main frame or is it to do with the drum it's self.

The drum arm is held in a slider by 6 nuts.is it something to do with them

Cheers

These sanders all look alike, but here is a manual for one that look like yours.
