OK FOLKS Day 4 To me it matters not what you celebrate during this time of the year. We are a global community, so understand that this is all inclusive for all our community! Everyday until Christmas I will be giving away a random gift to a random winner. For today's gift all you have to do is post your favorite back and side wood in the thread. This is one pretty easy :-} Also share it on facebook and twitter if you so choose. Twitter button is found above your profile pic, the Facebook SHARE is found at the bottom of your post. The winner will be drawn tomorrow randomly, all gifts will be shipped out AFTER the holidays. Today's winner will receive a DVD from Robert O'Brien Build A Classical Guitar! Attachment: IMG_1377.JPG

So far my favorite build was done with Camitillo. Beautiful wood but really hard to find. Attachment: sjdone11.jpg

This is like asking what my favorite flavor of ice cream is. I just can't do it. If I had to choose an answer to both questions I would saw cherry edges out walnut. |

I haven't built with it yet - but I think Myrtle will be my new favorite. |

Katalox right now.. This is the back and side set I am using on my second build. Although, I have some Black Walnut that was cut down 27 years ago and stickered in a barn. I planed some of it and it is very beautiful. I was offered 4 more big trees/logs of black walnut that were knocked down from a tornado about 5 years ago, for free from a good friend of mine... Sounds like I'll have a few black walnut guitars to make. The neat thing is the walnut is all about 20 minutes from where I live here in Kentucky. *I hope this attachment works... Merry Christmas! -Garrett |

I really like Honduran mahogany and the fiddleback I'm working with now is very cool. |
