Hahaha, tell me about it. Life sometimes gets in the way--teenagers finally off to college, retired from military and no more deployments, took 5 years to get a PhD at Purdue, now I'm finally getting some time to get back to this great hobby, and looking forward to building regularly again. :-)

P.S. you know you're old when your join date is one month after Lance. Lol.

Very cool! Me too. Well. Not in 1996 ...

It's nice to hear from a compatriot.

In fact, I have many friends and relatives in Holland Patent. My favorite town in the whole state!
If I could choose one town to live in... it would be there.

When did you graduate?

Hopkinton, eh? I'm in Rhode Island.

I agree! Holland patent is a story book village. I've always said if there was one place I could live it would be there

Funny how there are a few of us from the same area on this forum. There's another guy here from New Hartford.

I was once at a store that sold windows here in Rhode Island around 25 years ago, and I noticed that the sales guy didn't sound like a local. So I asked where he was from, and he said that he was from a very small hick town in upstate NY, and that I'd probably never heard of it. I said, well what's the name of it?

He said "Clark Mills".

to which I responded: Yeah, I may have been through there a time or two, seeing that I'm from Whitesboro. I went on to name a few places in his home town and we had a good laugh at the craziness of two people from that area living in a strange land like Rhode Island...

When we first moved to this area, my wife (from Whitesboro, then New Hartford) became friends with a girl where they were teaching. After a few conversations, we found out she was also from Holland Patent. She knew my relatives and several friends. Small world...

Class of '73. We should get together sometime and figure out if we know the same people.

Strange. What is it about that town? I live now in a pretty small, semi-rural neighborhood, about 8 houses. Turns out 2 of my neighbors have connections to Holland Patent.

Small world. When I met my wife (late 70s) she was going to Boston College and working in her advisor's lab. She became friends with the prof and his wife and several years later we were at a party at their house and met his current lab assistant. A young woman from HP whose sister I knew and whose father was my boss on a job I had in Utica for a couple of years. That was coincidence enough for me. But then several years after that, the same young woman turned up as the pediatrician to my brother's kids in St. Paul, MN.

Weird.

Well, if you knew any of the Williams's there, Joyce, Randy, Patty, Diane etc. etc., they're cousins. Sounds like you're just a few years older than I am, meaning that most of the folks I knew were also a bit younger. I knew the Steffen Publishing kids (Rhonda and Preston) and a bunch of others that are my age and a bit younger. I graduated in '78.
