I have been in touch with Hibdon and sent out 2 choices as to a Date this year . It appears that APRIL 29th is the best date for the Majority and for Hibdon . So the Gateway area Luthiers show is Slated for Sat April 29th at Hibdon Hardwood in St Louis Mo. We have (2) Demos arranged thus far : Ryan M. is going to talk about his adjustable neck Guitar design: :Todd Hubbard is going to demonstrate a Burst done by hand without spraying : If anyone else has any Ideas or Demo that they would like to offer please contact me . I will be attending again and bring ukulele and should have an in-progress guitar body to show. Enjoyed the way everyone introduced themselves last year and the tour of Hibdon. Glen : This is a one day "saturday" 9-4 gathering (8am for set up) of builders mainly who get together , show new stuff in process stuff . we have demos arranged and lunch with plenty of water and sodas .we have a person hired to watch our vehicles . (got broke into one yr ) we provide table for you if you want to show some stuff. and at least 1 folding chair ( btw we are looking for someone who has history and experience with torrified wood to have a discussion ) Its very laid back Anyone is welcome we have one guy thats coming from West virgina . Hibdon opens up there wood stash to the attendees if you want to shop some woods . they also offer a discount that day . Ocassionally a small jam session will break out . If your looking to sell , probably wont . if your looking to hang out for a day and shoot the breeze with other builders , thats us. You CAN patd however pre registration helps us know better how many tables , amount of food , water etc: |

Wud, thanks for the info. I don't sell my builds but like the idea of "shoot the breeze with other builders" for a day. My wife and I are adjusting to having an empty nest for the first time in 30 years and we seek things to do. No more scouts, ball games, school events, etc. It sounds like a great day. But, it is a long way from east Texas, but who knows, we may just come on up. Can't say until we get closer. I do promise that if a jam session breaks out, I will not play..... LOL. I can't be there but would love to see them and imagine there are many others who feel the same. Both YouTube and Vimeo make it pretty easy to post and share.
