I posted a set of pics on our Facebook page and a little story about a 1 pc top of yellow cedar that has 385 growth lines in 17.5" of width.
There was more wood, and growth lines, that were trimmed off while cutting. We put the first line at 1950 as calculated for several reasons mentioned in the article.
I pic is of the board with dates of historical events including a line when Christopher Columbus set sail across the Atlantic Ocean and our tree was only 2" diameter and maybe 5 feet tall.
Thought some of you guys might be interested. I cannot post the picture here that would give it any justice, because it would be so small, nothing would be distinguishable or readable.

I also have some 1 pc Sitka Tops with 295 growth lines that we took the time with the help of magnification to count.
Just something unique for those that like different and want different; were a LOT of history is recorded in 1 soundboard, as opposed to the norm of 2 pc booksets joined with only 200 years of growth.

Wow. That's something else.

Not only great wood but great sawing to get high grade tops out of wood that wide.

Interestingly enough I had a customer ask me just yesterday if any tops came in single pieces and I took him to your site to show him some. He was really interested in the uniqueness of them and is now deciding what he wants to do.

As an aside, I was showing him a beautiful Bearclaw top I purchased from you awhile back that prompted his question if tops came in single pieces (he never knew they were matchbooked).
