Will CA discolor Mahogany like it does spruce? A quick search didn't bring a result.

CA generally darkens wood about like water does. Epoxy seems to be a lot less obvious...

There's an easy enough way to find out ;). If you are like the rest of us - there's no shortage of little scrap bits laying around.

I used shellac on the rosette channel just because of the volume of CA I use and just to be safe. This is for the binding channel though. I'm thinking I might spray it anyway with shellac to help with keeping the tape from pulling up the fibers.

If there is a gap and you are filling it with dust and CA it will darken. If it is a very thin line (as in a cracked/split in a top/back/side) it will be nearly invisible.

Yes, CA has the potential of darkening mahogany. Sealing with shellac can help prevent this from happening. I always shellac the top in areas where tape may be applied when affixing any binding/purfling.

Darken, but you can't see the yellow. I think with finish it disappears.
