I hope it's ok to post this but I was wondering if anyone here knew of any shops on Long Island that might be willing to sell me access to a thickness sander to sand a euro maple back and side set. Normally I'd have no problem thicknessing this by hand but due to a recent shoulder injury I don't think I have the endurance to spend a few hours planing.

I would check with local cabinet shops, they likely have a wide-belt sander and many will rent you a bit of time if you ask nice.

Hi Steve,

I live in Brewster NY. probably around 1-1/2 - 2 hours from L.I..

You are welcome to use my widebelt if you want.

Regards,
Brad

Nice, Brad I assume that offer extends to all OLFers.
I know that I owe some pay-it-forward from all the knowledge gleaned from here.
