Hi All Love to see what you are working on. The last thread of this type is up to 10 pages so I thought I'd start a new one. I just finished #44 and sent it off to James "Sunny Jim" White. Curly Mahogany back & sides (Hibdon). Adirondack top (Colonial Tonewoods). Here are a couple of pictures: ![]() ![]() ![]() Looking forward to seeing what you are up to - Mike G |

That's a sharp looking guitar. The curly mahogany looks great. What is the binding? I'm also interested in the innermost ring/binding of the soundhole. It appears to be wider than binding. Is it an inlaid ring? |

One of my favorite parts of building a guitar is when you get the first good look at how the wood will appear under the finish. This is after pore filling with z-poxy. Applying the finish is the main task this week. Attachment: Ziricote w z-poxy.jpg

This one's pore-filled, shellacked, and ready for lacquer, which I'll start spraying today. Tasmanian Tiger Myrtle from Stephen at Colonial, with a German moonspruce top that will get french polish. I had Larry Robinson inlay the fretboard with my take on the "Tree of Life" motif, which really is nothing like it. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

No guitar work these days as I have to really put the nose to the grindstone these days and get paying work out of the door! But I have 3 acoustic projects and 3 Tele Thinlines in progress...taunting me... This is my paying work and it occupies my guitar making space. This is the first of five new canoes for this season all done. |

So I am suppose to show what I am working on after the canoes and that amazing guitar? OK, I have no shame. My humidifier quit on me sometime this winter and never noticed and I have some cracks in some of the projects I had waiting till I had some more time. I need to get them and the material to finish them at a decent humidity for a while. So what do I do with myself? How about a fun throw away build? Resawed a pine board from Home Depot, quartered but a fast grown tree with one area with 3 grain lines per inch. None of that heavy late growth for this one. The neck, a choice 2x6 that I had seasoning for a while. Cut it in half and glued it together. The inspiration for this one is a Martin size 5 and a Torres guitar, can't remember which. Of course I took a wrong turn here and there and the result will not be close to either. Right now I am trying to decide how I want the neck attached, sides are bent, didn't think to put them in the picture. ![]() |

I agree there is some great looking stuff here. I just finished my Stahl Style 6 inspired build. This one was a lot of fun to do. |
