After being off the forum for a long time, I am back so hope to post and help in any way I can, which probably isn't much.

I have been a member since about day one, and have seen many changes over the years.

During a lot of the time off, I have worked in a couple of well known pro shops.

My "boss" and great friend and mentor, Bill Moll has taught me much about this craft

Over the last couple of years I have had major health problems. I now have a pump in the heart to help it work (LVAD) and am on dialysis. Over the last year I been in the stupid hospital about 300 miles from home for about 6 months. I had to sell out my shop and pretty much stopped all luthier activities. Been rough as I love doing the work fro A to Z. Plus my wife won't let me play with sharp toys.

I now have a room I can do stuff with guitars and my fly tying and rod building hobby.

I am going to concentrate now on repair, and mostly fret, bridge, nut, saddle and setup stuff. But going to build some. I can cut or have my son in law cut out the parts in his shop as he is the one who has most of my big tools and then assemble it in room. Besides gives me something to do during 3.5 hours of dialysis every other day. I kept a lot of my hand tools

I just posted in the classifieds but looking for a neck steam injector system like Stew Mac has and vacuum clamps for bridge and braces.

Good to be back and enjoy post.

Great to hear from You Stan and I was going to PM you anyway because we really appreciated the help that you provided us with a review recently. Thank You!

A family member of mine helped develop the heart pump that you have, LVAD and the work in creating it was done in the old Strohs beer brewery (now out of business) in Detroit, Michigan. The University of Michigan School of Public Health also consulted on the pump. Dick Cheney got one of the first pumps ever implanted and that kept his heart going and worked well until he of course got his heart transplant.

Very sorry to hear of your health issues my friend and I remember some other things that you shared too about five years ago. Nonetheless it's great to hear from you and knowing you as I do I'm sure that doing some set-up and Lutherie stuff when you feel like it will help you feel better.

Welcome back Stan!!!
