Just a beautiful guitar! I love that the neck matches the back and sides. The golden color with the subtle ink lines makes it look so classy!

Beautiful Danny. I really like the streaking in the maple.

I am a sucker for curly maple... You will have to tell us what "went bad" on that guitar - it looks fantastic.

Hey John! As you probably know spalt in Maple is part of the decay that happens, fairly quickly in this species, If left unprocessed. It's going rotten. The decay in this wood is about as much as I would ever want to use for an instrument that I would want to have a bit of a lifetime. Cheers.

Gorgeous guitar! I love that sloped heel! I might just shamelessly steal that idea... ;)

Danny, Beautiful guitar. I love the curly maple, especially the neck. Your heel design is interesting. It's similar to the one I posted a while back. Yours is more angular than mine. The majority of folks that commented didn't seem to like my design. I think it may have been the neck lamination configuration that threw it off. Since that photo, I carved it to a symmetrical shape. Again, I like yours. ...really nice work.

I like your design. I wanted to post a photo of this one in your thread but the only one I had time for were on my smarter than me phone. eek I didn't want to work. Thanks for the kind words. Have you started finishing yet? Looking forward to seeing it. Cheers Pal!

Thanks John! How often do we get a chance to build a guitar with a neck from the same tree eh? Like, almost never.

And Steve. On all Maple these days, unless it gets a burst, the first coat I spray is orange shellac. It doesn't make it orange but it seriously pops the figure.
