Hey guys. I have a Rikon 10-325 14" bandsaw. I like the saw well enough except for the guides. I keep having problems with the guide bearings swallowing too much dust and locking up... Not too good... And the existing guides dont adjust out far enough to support 1/2" and 3/4" bands properly..... For those of you who have upgraded - what do you like? Ceramic blocks? Double bearing guides (like the Carter) The Laguna guide system (will this fit Rikon?) Others? |

I have a set of carter double bearing guides on that saw and like them. I have not tried ceramic blocks. |

Got the same saw. Mine haven't locked up but I have been searching for a good upgrade. There's a few out there so I, too, would like hear if anyone has some experience. |

Don't have that saw -- but very pleased with the Carter upgrades we've purchased. |

I have the same saw and love the Carter guides I put on as an upgrade. My bearings never locked up but they were always hard to adjust, moving when you went to tighten them down. The Carters are pricey but good. Kent |

Rikon has new upgraded bearings for the older saws. I just upgraded to new set. Bigger and adjust without tools. Very happy with the upgrade. Online or Woodcraft. Donovan |

Groan... Now I am dealing with some sort or flutter that seems to be related to the tires. I have seen several reports of tire problems on these saws.... I predict a set of Carter tires in my future... |

After reading a bunch of woodworking forum posts about bearings - I decided to give some "shielded" bearings a try.. Those are the ones with the steel seals on the outside rather than plastic or rubber. Got a pack at the local skate shop for $10... We shall see... |

Those are 608's, it looks like the Rikon uses 80203's, assuming you're talking about the wheel bearings. https://www.rikontools.com/partslist/10325.pdf Kevin Looker |

Guide bearings. I just matched up what was on there according to the number on the bearing.. Originals were number 608 Roller skate bearings with black plastic shields... |

I like the ceramic guides on the Laguna saws. I can cut for hours on my LT16HD and the blade stays cool and cuts straight. Bob |

+1 for the ceramic Laguna saw guides. I've used Carters before, and they are quite good. But I've found the Lagunas to be a big step forward over even the Carters. Dave |
