Thanks Danny. I like the idea of using curly maple!
It looked like the pieces were bent. I couldn't quite figure out how to do that with end grain zebra wood.

And thanks for the tip on zipflex. I'll check it out

You're welcome Joe. I've done that style in a number of woods. It's a simple design that ties in nicely with the rest of the appointments.

For radial, like you are talking, I think laying in teflon would be the way. And thanks for making me think of that. That could be very sexy with pulling and rosette.

Cheers My Friend!

Hey Joe. (!!!) If you are referring to the rosette, it's not radial. High Curl Maple. Bent on the pipe and a touch scorched unfortunately. More so on the treble side but I think it will all work out.

BTW. If anyone is interested. AST has a deal on random lengths of Green Abalone Zipflex right now. Like 40% off deal. And they will ship to Canada. How that works I have no idea because i didn't ask too many questions. ;)

Ast?

Ok SnowMan. You're off the hook having just googled it and it did't come up. Advanced Shell Technology. The creators of Zipflex.

BTW. A real name goes a long way when you're hanging out here. Just sayin' . Cheers!

Just ordered from Zipflex - when they are assembling their normal stock at 15" long, they set aside any piece that is less than that. Then they sell a 60" total tube with pieces ranging from 3" up. They always have a few sizes and types in stock - I just bought a tube of .064 Green Abelone for $72 (+ $10 shipping) making it about $1.20 and inch. The retail was about $1.85 an inch, for a discount of about 1/3. They said to call back periodically as they are always adding sizes and types, but they tend to go fast.
