They've got some very nice sets -- look to be fully quartersawn across the entire width -- over at Gilmer Woods and for a very fair price. I've already picked up 4 sets. Just thought I'd let you all know.

they started releasing sets before Christmas...I actually had permission to get 2 sequential sets and refrained...saw this recent large batch and easily refrained...surely not because it's not good stuff at a scary low price, but because it's simply stupid for me to acquire any woods at this point (tomorrow is double mastectomy day (no insurance and the bills will be what they are...rather easy to ignore such deals in light of this info))

I'd jump on some sets if I could...seriously, $225-250 a set for stuff that sells for at least 50% more from luthier suppliers???

most of the stuff I see is kind of rift sawn going to flat sawn on the edges, but with proper patterning will look mostly vertical grained even though it isn't...I got a couple of sets from them 4 years ago that looked just like the pictures but when it arrived it had already darkened to brick red (most beautiful IMO)

Wishing you and your wife all the best, and a safe surgery, Mike.

Mike, I hope all went well with the surgery.

Those quartered cocobolo sets are a steal at that price. Other places price that quality of cocobolo at $350 - $400 a set.
