I'm sure I have missed this discussion... Can you use CA for finish repair on EM6000?

Steve, I haven't used EM-6000 in years but if I remember it has lacquer qualities and I don't think I used it with EM-6000. BUT that doesn't necessarily mean you can't (wasn't that helpful gaah .

What kind of repair?

Several years ago I did CA drop fill repairs on several small dings on a top and they came out pretty close to invisible but not 100%. No witness lines or color difference, but when the guitar is held just so in reflected light, you can tell that the spots aren't perfectly level with the surrounding finish. Otherwise, you wouldn't know they were there. I did the thing with leveling the drop-filled CA first using a razor blade with a layer of scotch tape at each end of the blade as a scraper and then sanded, but I couldn't get the CA to sand absolutely level with the surrounding finish so that it would blend in perfectly. Could have been my technique though (or lack thereof).

I've gotten completely invisible repairs using EM6000 on EM6000. It takes quite a bit longer than drop filling with CA, but it's been worth it for me. If you have the drop fill technique down though, you could probably get it to be completely invisible with CA.

I use some more EM6000 to fill dings or scratches etc. Then rub it in with alcohol, it behaves a bit like french polish. this takes care of witness lines , then fine grade sanding with 1K to 4K abralon discs, then buff.
I have been happy with this
