I say 30-something because my database died a few years ago and I don't know how many instruments I've actually built. I know it's in the mid 30s though. This is one of three guitar headed to the booth tomorrow. This one is Sitka and EIR. The inlays are pernambuco, paduak, maple, ebony, eir, ovangkol, and black limba, surrounded by .020" black fiber and maple.

Very nice guitar! I like the inlays and the bridge is a cool design.

That is one "crisp" build! CNC'd I take it?
Is that one of those tapered rib thingies, sloped or whatever they call it?
Beautifully thought out...

Thanks, Haans!

I was waiting to see if you were gonna comment on it. I know you prefer more traditional stuff.

Yes, it is a wedge body, also often referred to as a Manzer wedge. It has been pointed out to me that it wasn't actually Linda's idea....

Yes, cnc was used on many of the parts. The headstock profile, logo, tuner holes, and inlay pocket were done on the cnc. The inlay tiles and purflings are done by hand. The fret board is done on the cnc, inlays done by hand. The neck is hand carved. The rosette pocket and soundhole are cnc'd, inlays, by hand. The bridge is done about half-n-half. The end graft is all by hand, and yes, it has a plywood tailblock which makes the original purpose for the end graft unnecessary. All of my guitar are drawn in cad so there's plenty of time to flesh out the details. I know some think it's cheating but I'm a systems guy... I'd get bored otherwise.

Thanks again

Best, M

Looks fantastic as it is. Almost a shame to put finish on it.

I wish I had a CNC to cheat with...

Ha! Obviously never used a CNC. If I took two complete novices and asked one to do an inlay with a CNC and another with a Dremel, X-acto and chisels, the CNC guy would be complaining, “No fair! He cheated!”

Looks great to me/) using a cnc is just as much a skill as using a chisel imo

Oh I know about CNC's, that's why I don't have one. Not smart enough to make it work. I wish though...

Michael Dunn told me you should be able to take 3 pics of any part of a guitar and be able to tell they are from the same guitar.

You nailed that! Ties together beautifully and great workmanship as usual my friend!
