Can anyone tell me what fretwire size would have been stock on a late 60s strat. I have a guitar here that has a botched refret from another tech, so none of the origional wire is availible to measure.

Thanks

Something close to these. Both entirely to low IMHO. The Jescar 0.100" X 0.051" is nice, plenty of room to work with if you can't level the fingerboard. (vintage wood) You can just feel the fingerboard under the fret. Tall 0.055" 0.057" are the rage locally (shredders) 0.100" X 0.047" is factory Fender and no one wants it back for a refret

Dunlop 6150 18% NS .102 .042 .020, Width, height, tang size
Dunlop 6170 18% NS .099 .043 .024

Thanks, that is really helpful. I'll think I'll end up using the 6150 or something comparable.

Pulled a few vintage fender frets out of the big can of old frets. They measure .082" wide
