I guess my shop has reached a level of disreputableness that it has become attractive to some squatters. When I entered the shop I smelled the smell of death. I went up into the attic and was greeted by loud hissing coming from the dark corners. What could it be? Skeksis of Dark Crystal fame.! Except they are more on the fuzz ball side of things. I guess I will have to live with the stench for awhile.

Is that a two headed baby vulture? That's awesome :D Better get it/them to a nature center or something though, because I doubt conjoined birds would survive in the wild.

I think it is just a trick of the camera that makes them look connected. Even if they picture was taken during the great conjunction, the other head would be a mystic. . .

That's pretty cool Clay. I mean, it kinda sucks that you have to live with the smell but it will be neat seeing them grow up. Make sure you get it all sealed up after they fly the coop or you may end up with eggs again next year.

We had them in a barn on the farm I was living on in Virginia. They are protected so there was nothing you could do about it unless they got caught killing animals, which they do on occasion. They were interesting to watch. Especially coming home and seeing a bunch of them watching your every move from on high up in the tall barren White Oak snag.

I like Turkey Vultures. They're the clean-up crew. I have a couple who come every morning to eat some dry cat food. They seem intelligent and grateful for the free food.

Today I felt like one of those bad landlords who throw a bloke's possessions in the street and change the locks while he's having a pint at the pub.
While the young vultures were strolling around the neighborhood I battened the hatch to the attic. I'm sure they will be fine as this is the time of the year the homeless can consider themselves to be "camping". The birds are fully feathered and can fly enough to stay out of trouble.
Now I just need to figure out how to get rid of the stench.

I was just thinking of this the other day as I was watching tons of vultures ride the thermals. I'm glad to hear they are off on their own now. As for the smell, I don't know what to tell you. I can only imagine how bad that is.

Nature's Miracle is great for cat and dog pee. Maybe it works for vulture pee too?

Follow up with many doses of chlorine and water solution in a spray bottle. Don't soak your plaster ceilings, but let them get a bit damp so that the chlorine soaks in a bit.

If that doesn't work, there's always fire laughing6-hehe
