I am starting on a new batch of guitars and several of them will have plastic(ABS) rosettes.

In the past on the few I have done I got a little end grain wicking especially when the black plastic was on the outside.

I use weldon glue I get from LMI.

I have never sealed the channel with shellac, but maybe it's time I start to.......

using the shellac seems counterintuitive to me since I would think that glue wouldn't stick to it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I use a thin cut for this, 1 lb or less, with no wicking, no adhesion problems. You can test on scrap.
