Post subject:  Looking for a builder
Hello everyone, I'm looking for someone who would be interested in finishing up a guitar that I started a few years ago. I used to have time and a shop to work on guitars and it never took off and at this time, I don't think it ever will. I don't have a shop any more and with how life is going, I don't think I will ever get to finish it!

The guitar is in the finishing stage, I have most of it pore filled with CA glue. It needs to be finished, the neck and fretboard need to be set, and final setup. If anyone would be interested in taking on this project for me, please let me know!

Thanks Alex!

I'm actually in the US Spokane, Washington. And the guitar is made with cocobolo, which has restrictions for shipping now, if I understand correctly.

I appreciate the response though, you guys are awesome!

Just curious, where in Europe are you? I was born in Estonia and moved here when I was 8.

Is the bridge already glued on? What kind of neck joint?

Pat, the bridge is being held on by some tape for the picture. It is not glued on. The neck is a butt joint with an elevated fretboard design similar to Wren guitars.

Go with Brian. I think that’s your best bet. You’ll get a professional finish along with his deep experience as a luthier.

I took a long time finalizing my design and was hoping to really get into building professionally. I just dont think it's going to happen at this point :(

I have another guitar just like this one almost done. Its walnut and bear claw spruce. I started both of them at the same time a few years ago but eventually started pushing this one further along. The walnut guitar has a standard headstock, not slotted. I always had a soft spot for slotted headstocks but also liked the lines to curve a bit instead of just straight. I'm loving these separate tuners because it allows for that design to work.

Maybe I'll talk Brian into finishing the other one too eventually? ;) I'm looking forward to working with you!

What I see from your build, with the cool cutaway, slotted head, arm bevel and the Taylor'ish body shape it looks more like a professional build than a newbie. Good job

Joe, thank you so much!

This build was my first (and last) time making a bevel. It was fun, but difficult. For some reason, I desided to not only do an arm bevel, but also a rib bevel! And I was trying to be different with the cutaway, as you know, it's hard coming up with something new design wise because just as you think you have the next greatest thing, it's already out there!

I'm pretty happy with the overall design, and boy do I want to keep building! Too bad, really :cry:

Maybe some day Maks. There are lots of story's of guys who had to give it up for what ever reasons for many years in some cases and came back to it. Once it's in your blood it's hard to get out. But if you are keeping that guitar for yourself then you will always have something to cherish.
