Does anyone have a source for low priced, 1/8 shank downcut endmill sets for rosettes and inlay?

I use these based on a recommendation a few years back by John Hall. They are inexpensive. I don’t know if he still uses them or not, but I have had good luck with them.

You might also check on eBay. For milling wood you don't need anything but "sharp".

I use the proxxon bits... they leave a very clean cut.

Thanks to those of you who responded.

I spent a few minutes on the BQ website and since I don't know much about end mills, am a bit confused.

I need 1/8" shank for my Dremel and also bits that are downcut so as to reduce tearout. It doesn't seem that they
carry such things. Am I wrong?

I use the square end mills for rosettes. I like to use the .062's for cutting purf rings and the outside edge of the rosette (2F062) and the .125 for hogging out between the edges of the rosette (2F125). Does that help? I haven't found a need to get the coated or extra length bits with a dremel. I recently made a wells-karol jig and I think I'm going to need to get the longer length for that. If you're using a dremel and the SM base / circle cutter the standard length is fine.

Edit: I should note that I use a new bit with each soundboard. So I might be getting the "best" cutting experience these can offer each time. If used for more than one soundboard you might consider the coated (not sure, maybe John will chime in on that). At 8 bucks each I don't mind a new one each time.

you don't need down cut bits I was a machinist and tool maker , Been doing wood work for over 50 year. You need sharp. Down cuts bits in a blind hole heat up and wear out faster. That way they can sell you more. The end mills you want , when you call tell them you want the same ones I get at blues creek 1/32 and .020 for inlay 3/32 for rosettes
they come with 1/8 in shanks
as soon as you can get rid of the dremel and get a foredom or go to air tools

I got some of the Kyocera bits from Precisebits a few years ago, still using them and they were cheap. I don't see them
in their product list now but they have lots of suitable endmills and other small router bits avail, made in US. Even got a
list applicable for musical instruments.
