Got a heads up on this reamer here years ago but it deserves being mentioned again. The SGS pro for champfering the finish before reaming tuner bushing holes or end pin holes. Very smooth and pretty much eliminates risk of chip out.

I was installing Waverleys today and this tool along with a cut off Ace Hardware plumbers reamer and my tuner bushing press actually makes it fun.

That tuner bushing press is a very nice idea. I'm stealing it!

No more trying not to bang up the neck while getting the headstock parallel to the drill press table! I use the SM press fitting. I like this though! Thanks for sharing it.

FWIW - In addition to the SGS bit you have there I really like the zero flute bit from KEO - https://www.keocutters.com/product-cate ... cart=49846 I first saw Dave Collins using this for a bridge pin hole. It leaves a very clean surface.

Very interesting. What size are you using?

I use this one, good price and free with prime. :) https://www.amazon.com/KEO-53512-Single ... ial&sr=1-1

This thing can take off on you though, so be careful! ;) I use it with the drill press depth stop so that I don't over do it.

Don't use countersinks - no matter how sharp, you will encounter some woods will they will tear out. Instead, use a very sharp carbide burr - much better results.

--------

Didn't even look at the photos. I think I use that exact same burr. I use it as well to chamfer the top and bottom of the headstock holes (prevents finish chipping). I also chamfer the tuner alignment holes slightly for the same purpose. Without question, vastly superior to the typical countersinks we've all used.

Thanks for this! I couldn't get anywhere with "SHS Pro" but when I looked closely at the photo I saw it's SGS Pro 15000, and that's easy to find.

I like the press! I've been setting up a padded C clamp arrangement; in the time it takes me to set that up each time I can make a little press like that. Fun and convenient.
