Hi, everyone, I always enjoy following the posts here but don’t contribute much myself. I thought I would take some pictures of a few of the instruments I have built before they get more banged up. (I’ve played all of the guitars out at least a little.) https://sites.google.com/view/a-few-guitars/home I’ve been using found wood, mainly an old piano and some pieces from when they redid the building where I work, but I did buy the fingerboards, which seem to me to be a critical part, and some mahogany. The finish is all French polish shellac with tung oil on the necks. The stop tailpieces on the two hollow bodies pass through holes in the top without making contact. The upright bass is a quirky one—I wanted to learn jazz bass but couldn’t justify buying one. It is quiet but has decent tone. It goes without saying that everything I’ve made has its flaws, but building is really a compulsion. I’ve learned a lot from the forum, especially about doing a good set up. Thanks, Viktor Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nice work Victor. I especially like the aesthetic of the upright bass. |

You’ve got great design sense, gotta agree with others - the shape of your upright bass works really well. |

Very cool instruments. The upright bass looks like a giant version of an antique pochette fiddle. |

Thanks. I meant for the bass to have an acoustic sound (which it pretty much does) and to be portable, so the neck is removable with a couple of socket bolts. I’m not sure how practical it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
