I've been curious and havn't seen a thread on labels. I'd be intersted to see what your labels look like. Where's a good place to have them made? |
Here's a rough in the works label a friend of mine is working on. Not done yet though. ![]() This is very cool, one thought though.... that string that protrudes above the label might give you fits. |

Mine's really simple. I have some old high-rag-content linen-finish stationery that I use. I cobbled together the label in WordPerfect, and run the stationery through my laser printer, then cut it out with scizzors. Cheap! The label in the photo is a bit dusty cuz I hadn't blown the guitar out yet. ![]() Best, Michael |
Lutz...the low-grade stuff. Shane must have been in a bad mood and took it out on the wood that day. Can just see it now... Shane (to wood): "You are nothing better than A - ...Master Grade in your dreams. If it were winter, I'd be heating the shop with you." Dr. Phil (to wood): "How's that make you feel?" Lutz: "Thrummmmmmmmmm..." Shane (to self): "I need a vacation"
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Can I just make a statement on behalf of the "Don't stick a bit of paper in your guitar" party? One of the reasons I like old Martins, they just stamp the model and serial number on the neck block. I don't mind classicals with labels, as long as they are simple plain statements of fact like Michael's or Todd's, but steel strings, no thanks. Just me being grumpy. Colin |

Have you tried reading a label through a lute rose? Colin |

I've never even seen a lute (in person that is). Yes, it would be difficult and I would suspect out of place for sure there. |

Colin
And I'm in the "Don't stick your name on the headstock" party. Though I don't mind this on a steel string. ![]() I've always been tempted to make myself a guitar with no label. Have y'all seen Francisco Simplicio's labels? Check it out. |
